BEFORE YOUR FLOAT

Getting ready for your first Float session?

Here’s what you need to know.

General Info

Float therapy is most effective when done without clothing. Please keep this in mind if you plan to float in pairs.

If you are menstruating, we kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment to a different phase of your cycle.

The buoyancy of the float pool allows you to float effortlessly, so there's no need to worry if you're not a swimmer.

REMEMBER:

Each person’s first float experience is unique, but it’s recommended to have at least 3 sessions to fully maximize the benefits. Much like yoga or exercise, the advantages of float therapy build up over time.

FAQs

We understand that float therapy might be a new experience for many, so we’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions to help prepare you for your session at Ripple Recovery.

What is floating?

Floating involves lying in a pod filled with skin-temperature water and 500kg of dissolved Epsom salt. This creates a zero-gravity environment that reduces sensory input and promotes deep physical and mental relaxation.

How long is a session?

Standard floats are 60 minutes, though 90-minute sessions are available for those who want to go deeper into the experience.

Will I feel claustrophobic?

Most people don’t. The pod is spacious, and you remain in full control — you can float with the lid open, lights on, or gentle music if you prefer.

Is the water clean?

Absolutely. After every session, the water is filtered multiple times through UV sterilisation, micron filters, and medical-grade sanitation systems, ensuring it remains crystal clear and safe.

How often should I float?

Many clients float once a week for stress relief or recovery. Others choose to float monthly for maintenance or multiple times a week during intense training or stressful periods.
